Brand new to group but not to e&i

ex hubby was white and british (I've a SERIOUS love of british men but mad props to my Irish, Welsh and Scotmen as well)

How is ever one? All quiet on this home front but I hope not for long as Spring swings in full. Anyone else feeling their blood flowing as the snow melts?
I'm in So.Calif desert area w/ my horse, two cats and 1/4 built bus to RV. :D

Take care!

I'm white and British (still with the accent after 12½ years), is that a plus in the eyes of the American gals?

Here in No.Cal (SF bay area) I never saw now this year. Not like the first 11 years of my time in the USA, but I did live in Minnesota where it's always a white Christmas, you don't have to dream!

Oh HELLO there, BT! I've seen you around my other friend's profiles. And a brit as well with long hair (my fetish!). Bloody cheers to that!
I don't know about other ladies, but I've been pretty much a "british" head since grade school listening to Duran Duran (still the loves of my heart).
Well, I'd only seen the snow on the mountains and the four trips to the mountains until I moved to a higher elevation. First year here, we had 6 inches of snow on the ground-you could have used me as a ballon I was on cloud 9!

Hope to see you around *wink*

Sounds like you really oughta visit some of the Country's BIGGER cities, my Dear!!!

    Only problem is:

most folk drink (alcohol) in order to loosen-up . . .

"the way that Bobby Brown is just ampin' like Michael" ;-)

-- don't hold that against 'em!

Us WHITE GUYS often feel REAL pressured when it comes to hollerin' at our African Queens.

I hear you Kai regarding the brit thing. I've been a fan of british murder mystries since I was a kid. They seemed more intellectual than american ones, lots of killing and blood. British ones made you think and use your mind. I was also hooked on gothic novels to the point I was speaking with a clipped accent. One of my mom's friend teased me about my " proper" speaking but mom was proud. Then Doctor Who and well ........
When BBC America turnes up I was in heaven. No more searching for the brit fix..

SERIOUSLY! BBC American=my new drug. Love those accents and well created shows. I don't even bothered w/ regular tv (nothing on). Now if only they would bring back The League of Gentleman! I also have my fingers crossed they'll drop in some welsh and/or more Irish shows but for now-
        Carry on, BBC. What! What!

No thanks. I was very glad to leave L.A. the city and county w/o looking back. I enjoy the more rural/semi-tame areas. Less light=more star gazing :)

As for the rest, most who talk w/ me learn very quickly, I do not bite. No queen here. Just a eclectic gal doing her own thing and enjoying it.

Definately! I've had a serious jones for bass player of Duran Duran John Taylor for 20+ years now. If I were ever to meet him I might spontaneously explode...in my pants.

Okay this might date me but Ian MacShane in Lovejoy. OMG I actually had a long envolevd dream about where we had sex. It was soo real when I woke up I was for sure for a couple of hours. <sigh>
Then there's the guy who played Hamish. He was in Full Monty. Loved that flick
and my latest is Ray Stevenson. He played in Rome. It was so interesting to watch. I'm a big ancient Egypt and Rome fan. So I liked it for the loose history story( I would shout No No that's not right) and the british accents made it fun to watch Romans talk brit slang hehehe

Bloody hell! Good dream material! Alas, I don't remember having sexual dreams with my love muffin, John Taylor. I'd not say no to a roll in the bedders with Liam Neeson *shivers*. Och! That man with those long fingers and long limbs......anyway.
Before he died, I'd swear I'd do 'em both if I'd the mind (and stamina). Dermot Morgan RIP(Father Ted) & Ardal O'Hanlon (Father Dougal). But they'd be dressed as priest and well, you know...
                Right. Then.
                Carry on.

                  Dermot Morgan RIP(Father Ted)

Oo bummer I didn't know he died. I guess i just thought of him as always the same age as the show. He was soo funny. His view of the priesthood always cracked me up

                  Ardal O'Hanlon (Father Dougal).
I saw him like last weekend on Graham Norton. Which was a nice circle since I remember Graham being in a Father Ted episode

I think I saw that episode too. When they showed it on BBC America it was one of Mom's favs. I wish however they wouldn't "americanize" the programming. Raw, in your face Brit tv is WAY different than we know. A taste is better than none at all I guess.

Wow thanks for the koudos there...I had a b-day dinner yesterday with an ex(black) whose b-day is the day after mine and she confided that she just can't resist loving the Irish!...of course when I tell someone from the'Motherland' that I'm Irish from Boston they laugh in my face as that's not really the Irish experiance to them. As if being from a diaspora lessons the purity of experiance?. I think Osama is getting that trip too. Heck ,Richard Pryor told of his 'Roots' journey to the African homeland, and asked a tribal elder what trribe he looks to be from and the elder responded,...'Italian'.

..true that. I do have a fondness for the thoughts and actions of a woman which transcends race(even thought there is only one human species)and I celebrate diversity and adore the spirit!...of course spirit wrapped in a glorious brown shows what great art the creator creates!...but again, 'it's what you do with it..."
